chemical diethyl phthalate (DEP) is a plasticizer largely used in the manufacture of perfumery compounds, agarbatti (incense sticks) and as a fixative in the manufacture of perfumes, attars, etc. diethyl phthalate plasticizer is also used in the processing of cellulose acetate.
