covalent bonding of the plasticizer to pvc using phthalate-based thiol additives led to efficient plasticizing (navarro et al. 2010). as a result of the covalent bond, the migration is totally suppressed. a disadvantage, however, is the lower flexibility compared to the common phthalate plasticized pvc.
