epoxidized soya bean oil– from soya bean oil to biobased plastics, after epoxidation, the epoxide group provides more active site for polymerization. thus, ESBO is used as a plasticizer and stabilizer in plastic materials. in industry, ESBO is produced by an in situ epoxidation in the presence of a strong acid as a catalyst such as h2so4 and h3po4.
ESBO is a chemical prepared from soybean oil after oxidation treatment. it is a light yellow viscous oily liquid at room temperature and is a widely used non-toxic plasticizer and stabilizer for polyvinyl chloride. it has good compatibility with pvc resin, low volatility, and low migration.
